Sailing catamarans

Topaz 12, 14 and 16: stable, fast and quick to rig.

In short: Topper's Topaz catamarans, designed by Yves Loday and Robert White, cover every level: the Topaz 12 to get children sailing, the light Topaz 14 with gennaker and the fast but manageable Topaz 16. They are built in polyethylene and need almost no maintenance.

Topaz 16 catamaran sailing with crew on the trapeze

Topper's Topaz catamarans are designed by Olympic champions Yves Loday and Robert White. They are stable, quick to rig and great fun, and their polyethylene construction makes them very tough and practically maintenance-free. There is one for every level.

Which one to choose

  • Topaz 12: a great introduction to sailing for children. Very stable, for one or two children, or an instructor and a child. Sealed mast and masthead float: if it capsizes, it lies on its side instead of turning upside down.
  • Topaz 14: light, responsive and agile. Reefing mainsail, furling jib and a 10 m² gennaker that is child's play to hoist and drop. Single or double trapeze.
  • Topaz 16: fast, yet manageable by less experienced sailors. It rigs quickly, and the mainsail can be reefed and the jib furled in seconds. 16 and 16X versions.
