Quotes and buying

How can I get a quote?

From the «Quote» tab of each boat, from the contact page, on WhatsApp or by phone on +34 678 35 12 35, or by email at info@lenam.net. Quotes are free and with no obligation.

Why don't you show prices on the website?

The price depends on the version, the accessories and the delivery address. That is why we prepare each quote to measure, with delivery already included.

Do you ship to all of Spain, Portugal and the islands?

Yes. We deliver boats throughout Spain, to Portugal and to the islands. We are the Topper dealer for Spain and Portugal. Tell us the delivery address (and whether it is on the mainland or an island) and we will send you the quote with delivery included.

How long does delivery take?

It depends on the model and on availability. We will tell you in the quote.

Do you quote for clubs and sailing schools that need several boats?

Yes. Many of our customers are sailing schools and clubs. Tell us how many boats you need and for which ages and levels, and we will suggest the right mix of models. See also boats for sailing schools.

Can I see the boats at your workshop?

Our workshop is at Carrer Sant Celoni 69, 08450 Llinars del Vallès (Barcelona, Spain). We are open Monday to Friday; as we have no fixed hours, please call or message us before you come.

Do you sell second-hand boats?

Almost all our boats are new. The exceptions are our nearly-new ILCA Charter Element6 boats (checked over, with a new sail and new rigging) and, from time to time, the odd used boat. Just ask us.

Choosing a boat

Which boat is best for a child learning to sail?

The Taz is very stable: a 30 kg child can sail it alone. The Europi uses the same sail as the Optimist and is very easy to right. The Optimist is the first racing boat, and the Topaz 12 catamaran is a very stable platform. More in dinghies for kids and beginners.

Which boats do you recommend for a sailing school?

Group boats such as the Omega (up to 7 crew), the Argo (up to four people), the Vibe or the Magno; single-handed beginner boats such as the Taz, the Topper, the Europi or the Optimist; and the Topaz catamarans. All Toppers are made of Trilam polyethylene and need very little maintenance. More in boats for sailing schools.

Which dinghy do you recommend for family sailing?

The Magno, for up to three people, with a masthead float and a furling jib; the Argo, for up to four adults; the Vibe, for 1 to 3 people; and the Topaz, one hull with four versions you can upgrade over time. More in which dinghy to buy for family sailing.

Which boat should I choose to start racing?

The Optimist for the youngest, the 420 as a two-person boat and the ILCA as a single-hander. The ILCA 4 is the step between the Optimist and the ILCA 6. More in racing dinghies.

What's the difference between the ILCA 4, ILCA 6 and ILCA 7?

The hull is the same (4.23 m long and about 58 kg); the sail changes: 4.70 m² on the ILCA 4, 5.76 m² on the ILCA 6 (formerly Radial) and 7.06 m² on the ILCA 7 (formerly Standard). The ILCA is the former Laser: only the name has changed. More in ILCA 4, 6 or 7: which one to choose.

Which boats can I carry on a car roof rack?

The Topper (the hull weighs 45 kg and fits on a car roof), the Taz and the Topaz. Larger boats and catamarans need a trailer. More in dinghies you can carry on your car roof.

Materials and maintenance

What are Topper boats made of?

Polyethylene with Topper's Trilam technology: three layers (polyethylene, foam and polyethylene) that make the hull strong and light at the same time. They are very durable and practically maintenance-free.

Is a polyethylene or a fibreglass boat better?

It depends on the use. Polyethylene withstands knocks and the heavy use of schools and families with minimal maintenance; fibreglass is what racing classes such as the 420 require. We build in fibreglass and sell polyethylene boats: we explain it in polyethylene or fibreglass.

What maintenance does a polyethylene boat need?

Very little. Rinse the boat, sails and fittings with fresh water after sailing, let the sails dry fully before storing them, keep the boat covered and in the shade, and check ropes, shackles, centreboard and rudder before each season. More in end-of-season maintenance.

Is the Lenam Optimist good for racing?

Yes. It is built to IODA rules, with an exact 35 kg minimum weight and approved buoyancy bags. We also prepare it for sailing schools. Read buying an Optimist.

Spare parts and accessories

Do you sell Topper spare parts?

Yes. On each Topper model page, the «Spare parts» tab links to the Topper International website, where the parts list is. Fill in the form with the names and part numbers you need and we will send you a quote with delivery included. Step by step in Topper spare parts.

Do you have sails, masts and accessories for the Optimist and the ILCA?

Yes. For the Optimist: masts and sails from all brands, for racing and for schools; approved centreboard and rudder; take-apart launching trolley, paddle, bailer and covers. For the ILCA: aluminium and carbon masts, ILCA 4, 6 and 7 sails, battens, sail numbers, centreboard, rudder, tiller extension, covers and launching trolley. More in spare parts and accessories.

Where can I find the manual or brochure for my Topper?

On each model page, in the «Manual and Rigging instructions» and «Brochure» tabs.
