The Lenam Optimist, built to the IODA 95 rules, pursues excellence in the smallest details. Since the hull lines and design are practically the same at every builder, we believe the difference lies in choosing the toughest materials to make the hull as stiff as the rules allow.
Other aspects are also important in what makes the Lenam special: the perfect alignment of the rudder fittings, daggerboard case, mast step and mast partner, and the right centre of gravity, with an exact minimum weight of 35 kg.
Approved maximum-buoyancy bags with an additional inflation tube, padded hiking straps, the daggerboard retaining system and the choice of the best fittings all help to produce an Optimist of the highest level.
